Last Friday the whole school had a special Memorial Day concert. We were in the cafeteria and we were singing along to the songs. The whole school was there with 8 veterans.
Mrs. Mulligan's class put on a special dance for us and the second graders said a poem.
Mrs. Alvarado picked five friends to wave the flags during the song "You're a Grand Old Flag".
It was a very special day. I felt very happy that the veterans were able to come to our school.
What a special day! I poked my head into the cafeteria for the last song. It brought tears to my eyes. It is so wonderful that each of you are learning what it means to be thankful to the brave men and women who fight for our country!
